Live Tutor @ School

Smartlinx is also committed to help the schools overcome the shortage of their teaching staff with our new offering Live Tutor@School which is currently in the beta stage. Live Tutor @ School will facilitate the remote delivery of live interactive learning to classrooms through audio and video over broadband. With Live Tutor@School a teacher from one location can teach students at a different location using Live Tutor Virtual Learning Environment.

Live Tutor Virtual Learning Environment

Live Tutor Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) includes Live Tutor LMS for learning management and Live Tutor Connect for connecting the teacher and the classroom/student(s). Live Tutor VLE integrates with widely available hardware (personal computers, interactive whiteboards, webcams, digital cameras etc). Smartlinx will only recommend standard hardware required for the solution.

Live Tutor LMS

Live Tutor LMS is a learning management system that allows educational institutes to create learning programs, register users both students and teachers, manage user schedules, maintain learning calendar, and store data. Live Tutor LMS integrates with Live Tutor Connect under single login for users to access data, attend online or offline classes, manage content, and interact with peers.

Features

• Student Management: Student registration, administration, course catalog, course search, course enrolment, student attendance, and communication tools such as discussion boards, chat rooms, blogs, message posts, and surveys.
•  Teacher Management: Teacher registration, administration, course creation, course scheduling, and teacher attendance, communication tools such as discussion boards, chat rooms, blogs, message posts, and performance rating functions.
• Delivery Engine: Server component that delivers media content
• Content Management: For content storage and retrieval functions.

Live Tutor Connect
Live Tutor Connect is an application that allows hosting live interactive virtual classes, which allows teachers to interact with students through audio-video, chat, questions and answers, share presentations, documents and desktops screen online. Live Tutor Connect is a Windows based custom-built application software, tightly integrated to Live Tutor LMS and is designed to work even in low bandwidth conditions without having a need for expensive leased lines for Internet access.

• Video & Audio: Interactive two way communication using audio and video.
• Share Presentations & Documents: For uploading and sharing presentations or documents.
• Desktop Sharing: For sharing the desktop to the audience.
• Whiteboard: For writing formulae and other text onto the whiteboard.
• Recording: Sessions will be recorded for archiving and future usage.
• Login: Login to direct the users to their respective classrooms.
• Streaming: For streaming any content type as highly compressed video and audio content.
• Text Chat: Supports text chat.
• Queries: Hand raising for handling queries raised by students.
• Storage: Storage and retrieval of all content for archiving.
• Evaluation: For real-time evaluation, assignments and testing
• Security: Secure content delivery as all content is converted to video and transmitted.
